Best time to visit Kuta Lombok
Kuta Lombok is warm all year, so the real choice is between the dry and the wet season, and between busy and quiet months. This is a general guide; weather varies from year to year.
Updated:

Dry season: roughly May to October
Most days are sunny with clear skies, the hills turn golden and the sea is usually at its best for swimming and surfing. It is the most popular time to visit, especially July and August, when flights and villas book up early.
Wet season: roughly November to March
Rain usually comes as heavy showers, often in the afternoon or at night, with sunny spells in between. The landscape is green, the town is quieter and prices tend to be lower. Some back roads get muddy, which matters more if you ride a scooter.
The sweet spot
If you can choose, the shoulder months tend to give the best balance of weather, space and price.
- April to June: the rains ease, everything is still green and it is not yet peak season.
- September and October: dry weather with fewer visitors than mid-summer.
- Christmas and New Year: busy again, so book early.
Events at Mandalika
The Mandalika circuit, next to Kuta, hosts international races such as MotoGP. Race weekends fill the area quickly and prices rise, so check the race calendar before you book, whether you want to go or avoid it.
Staying longer
Many guests come for a few weeks to work remotely. Villa Lulets has a desk in each bedroom and a 10% discount on stays of 7 nights or more, which makes the quieter months good value for a long stay.
